Why We Chose to Recycle?
Okay Pwòp Sant Resiklaj, Inc. supports the power of knowledge and values sound education to stimulate awareness which can impact change and establish good sustainable habits in daily routines.
Disseminating environmental protection information to raise awareness is a master key to improving the quality of life on the planet.
Environmental scientists and climate crisis experts have studied how our carbon footprints have left devastating marks on global ecological systems, which are now in a dire state of crisis. Some of the problems observed are the overproduction of nonperishable products and mismanagement of wasted materials, which becomes litter on the planet and pollutes our environment. To recycle wasted and limited valuable resources, to reuse them and create new useful items instead of trashing them, is globally responsible, impacts the economy locally, and is simply practical action for environmental preservation. Recycling is the proper ecological relationship to maintain stock of our limited natural resources and positively influence environmental harmony for generations.
Why Should You Help?
Around 80% of items buried in landfills in the USA could be recycled.
One and a quarter million plastic bottles are bought in the world very minute.
Humans produce almost 20,000 plastic bottles every second.
Only 9% of plastic produced gets recycled.
It takes about 200 years for a plastic straw to decompose completely.
Glass bottles are infinitely reusable and recyclable without loss in quality or purity.
It takes about 4000 years for a glass bottle to decompose completely.
Recycling a single run of the Sunday New York Times would save 75,000 trees.
Recycling aluminum saves around 95% of the energy needed to make metal from raw materials.
Decomposing plastic produces toxic methane gas and particles polluting soil water and food source.
Everyone can recycle to protect life on the planet.
“Recycling is the proper ecological relationship to maintain stock of limited natural resources and positively influence environmental harmony for generations to come.”
